Dell contacted us to create a game that would train their employees on Dell product knowledge at an upcoming tradeshow event. The end result was a game show themed game that pitted 3 contestants against each other, awarding points for correct answers and fastest response times. Fake characters were created (with names like Johnny Cache and Tara Byte), questions were formed to quiz contestants on Dell products, and the Dell Powervault Challenge was born. The end product was an interactive web-based game that was displayed in front of hundreds of people at an industry event.

We outsourced the character design to a skilled illustrator, but I was in charge of optimizing each character, designing the stage, podiums and other elements, and then packaging everything in such a way that my development team could easily build the finished game. I also created a series of storyboards that outlined the user experience and explained the game’s flow to Dell, and made it easier for my development team to know what needed to happen at each stage of the game.
